Introduction

The 1/10th scale Axial® SCX10™ III Jeep® JL Wrangler 4WD marks the next step in off-road performance. The SCX10 ™ III continues to include key components that have made the SCX10 ™ vehicles so successful, but enhances the chassis realism with details such as a V8 engine mock-up for the front-mounted 540 engine. This is connected to a realistic transmission case and transfer case like in a 1:1 vehicle. The RTR version includes a Spektrum™ DX3™ 3-channel 2.4GHz DSMR® radio control system and a Firma™ 40A ESC/receiver. All the benefits of innovative Spektrum™ Smart technology at your fingertips.

Overview

The SCX10™ III Jeep® JL Wrangler transmission already has a third channel with a DIG function at the factory, with which you can lock the rear axle on the transmitter side to achieve a tighter turning radius with the front wheel drive. Alternatively, you can also use this third channel to set up the vehicle with a 2-speed gearbox to select between high and low transmission. To access the 2-speed gearbox and the DIG function simultaneously, simply add another servo and use a remote control with at least four channels (e.g. the 5-channel Spektrum ™ DX5).

The SCX10™ III Jeep® JLU Wrangler kit uses portal axles to improve performance by increasing ground clearance and reducing torque twist, The standard battery compartment accepts standard LiPo or NiMH packs. There is also space on the side rails for riders who prefer "shorty" packs. Wheel arches and underbody sides conceal internal components that are normally visible from the side of the chassis.

The chassis is topped off with a Jeep® Wrangler Unlimited four-door body that includes a roll cage, front hood vents and cowl, windshield wipers, mirrors, door handles and other molded-in details, plus a detailed interior and LED lighting. New taller and wider, officially licensed Nitto Trail Grappler tires on 3-piece beadlock wheels add more scale realism and more grip on dirt, rocks, and all other off-road trails.





ENGINE SCALE DETAILS
Scale features like a V8 engine modeled after the original, transmission case and transfer case cover and protect your electric motor while enhancing the realistic appearance.


MULTIPLE BATTERY MOUNTING POSITIONS
The SCX10™ III Jeep® JLU Wrangler features a standard battery compartment that accepts standard full-size LiPo or NiMH packs. There's also room on the side rails for drivers who prefer smaller packs or need additional batteries for other accessories.


DIG GEARBOX WITH TWO-SPEED OPTION
With a 3-channel remote control, the kit's gearbox can be set in two ways: with high and low gearing or with a DIG function that locks the rear axle from the transmitter on command to increase the turning radius through the front wheel drive. With an additional servo and a 4-channel remote control, both options can be made available simultaneously. The gearbox has ball bearings and metal gears to ensure a long service life.


PORTAL OFFSET AXLE HOUSING WITH HYPOID RING GEAR AND PINION GEARBOX
Portal axles, as found in some original off-roaders, provide higher ground clearance and reduce torque to other drivetrain components to improve performance.


CHASSIS WITH ADJUSTABLE WHEELBASE
The wheelbase of the SCX10™ III Jeep® JLU Wrangler kit is adjustable with optional links so you can select the wheelbase of your choice. The chassis is even stiffer than the SCX10™ II predecessor for less twist and even more precise suspension operation.


OPTIMIZED SUSPENSION GEOMETRY
The chassis geometry is based on the SCX10™ II, but has been slightly refined for the new chassis layout. The front suspension has been optimized to reduce bump steer, while the rear 4-link reduces torque twist.


FENDER LINERS AND FLOOR SIDES
The wheel arches and underbody sides of the SCX10™ III Jeep® JLU Wrangler kit body hide the internal components that are normally visible from the side of the chassis.


LICENSED 3-PIECE BEADLOCK WHEELS
These officially licensed KMC XD Machete wheels are legendary in the off-road world and feature a satin chrome finish. They feature stunning scale details. Because they are three-piece beadlock wheels, tires can be easily mounted, dismounted and replaced without gluing.


NITTO TRAIL GRAPPLER TIRES
Mounted on the SCX10™ III Jeep® JL Wrangler, the R35 compound Nitto Trail Grappler tires are larger and wider (4.74 x 1.7), providing more ground clearance and grip on any obstacle that gets in your way.


ADJUSTABLE ALUMINUM STRUTS
The oil-filled shocks have clear anodized threaded bodies, a single threaded spring and an emulsion cap with screw for easier maintenance. The shock absorbers are tunable to achieve the best damping rate. Their enlarged bore provides more fluid volume for better performance.


SPEKTRUM™ DX3™ 2.4GHz DSMR® REMOTE CONTROL
The included Spektrum™ DX3™ remote control with exclusive DSMR® technology offers superior range and interference resistance. It is fully compatible with the Smart Telemetry offered by the built-in Spektrum™ Firma™ Smart 40A controller/receiver combination.

JEEP WRANGLER UNLIMITED 4-DOOR BODY
The Jeep® Wrangler Unlimited scale body mirrors the original and features a detailed interior for a 'super-scale' look. The interior features a roll cage, steering wheel and driver's head. There are also many faithful details on the body such as the front radiator, front air vents, radiator grille, windshield wipers, mirrors, door handles, fuel filler flap or the spare wheel.
