The E-flite Timber 1.5m 10th Anniversary Special Edition celebrates the anniversary of one of the most popular and best-selling RC airplanes of all time! All the popular features of the original Timber 1.5m are included: shock-absorbing landing gear with large tundra wheels, an optional float set, slats, functional slotted flaps and an LED lighting system with landing, navigation and strobe lights. Also included are the improvements that have given the Turbo Timber 1.5m more power and capability, such as the more powerful propulsion system compatible with 3S and 4S batteries (2200-5000mAh) and stiffer wings.

This Special Edition now features an additional overhead battery hatch for quicker and easier battery changes and combined connectors for easy assembly and disassembly of the wings. Reinforced landing gear mounts and more robust springs increase durability and improve STOL (Short Takeoff and Landing) capabilities on uneven terrain. The model also features the iconic short-nose design and a classic paint job that gives it a timeless look!
Both versions are equipped with reliable and durable metal geared servos, a 3S and 4S compatible motor and a more powerful 70 amp Spektrum Avian Smart Lite ESC. The BNF Basic version includes a factory-installed AR631+ receiver with exclusive and improved AS3X technology and the optional SAFE Select function. The receiver provides real-time telemetry data such as total battery voltage, current and more to compatible radio controls - both with smart and non-smart batteries. Additionally, it enables motor/thrust reversing for special ground maneuvers and other functions. The hole EPO construction with composite reinforcements makes for a lightweight but strong airframe that allows for a variety of aerobatic maneuvers while keeping wing loading low. This ensures impressive STOL and slow flight characteristics. Optional slats can be installed for even better slow flight performance or the included floats to take off from the water as well. Skill Level 2 - Next step after a "trainer" - a little experience required.
Skill level 2 aircraft, such as this model, are ideal for RC pilots who have already successfully flown a trainer model and have the skills to assemble, adjust and fly models in this class. Although this model flies relatively smoothly and stably, it is not suitable for beginners who want to fly their first RC airplane. You should already have experience and the necessary skills to fly a trainer model such as the HobbyZone AeroScout 1.1 m or the Carbon Cub 1.3 m safely. Alternatively, you should also have mastered advanced trainer models such as the E-flite Apprentice STS 1.5 m or the Habu STS 70 mm EDF before attempting the Timber 1.5 m 10th Anniversary Special Edition BNF Basic Version.

The models are delivered fully assembled - including installed drive system, servos and a Spektrum 2.4GHz receiver. All you need to do is bind the receiver to a compatible transmitter, complete any final assembly steps and you're ready to fly!

Smart technology
Both the PNP and BNF-Basic versions of the Timber 1.5m 1st Anniversary Special Edition are equipped with an exclusive Spektrum Avian 70-amp Smart Lite ESC. This provides a wealth of real-time telemetry data on the propulsion system, including motor speed, current, battery voltage and more - with both Smart and non-Smart batteries. Data is transmitted via compatible receivers (including the AR631+) and Spektrum AirWare-enabled transmitters (such as DX6e and 8e, DX6 G2/3 and 8 G2, DX9, NX6 through NX20, iX12 through iX20 and more) during flight. In addition, the receiver contains a Smart Transmitter File, which can be used to import all settings for NX and iX remote controls during the binding process.

Exclusive technologies
This BNF Basic version is equipped with the exclusive Spektrum AS3X+ and SAFE Select technologies. The improved AS3X+ technology works in the background to compensate for the effects of wind and turbulence. The result is an even smoother flight experience that gives you the feeling of piloting a much larger aircraft. The optional SAFE Select function offers limits for pitch and roll angles as well as automatic self-stabilization that can be switched on and off at the flick of a switch! If you do not want to use the SAFE Select functions, you can simply bind the receiver as usual - in this case only AS3X+ is active.

Smart Transmitter File
This BNF aircraft is equipped with a receiver on which a Smart Transmitter File (STF) is stored. This reduces the programming of your transmitter to just a few clicks. When you bind your transmitter to an STF-capable model, all programming parameters are automatically loaded by the receiver. Switch assignments, rates, expo, telemetry and voice prompts set themselves up. No long step-by-step instructions. No constant readjustments. Just press a button and you're in the air faster.

Versatile landing gear options
Dense grass, gravel roads, dirt tracks - even local lakes and ponds - with this model you can conquer all these and many more surfaces that would be insurmountable for most models of this size. The reinforced brackets in the fuselage, combined with a shock-absorbing chassis and more robust springs, reliably absorb the shocks of uneven surfaces and less-than-perfect landings. The large Tundra wheels and tires provide excellent propeller clearance, while the included float set with two water controls enables precise control on the water. Whichever equipment you choose, both options are easy to fit and can be swapped in a matter of minutes.

STOL (Short Takeoff and Landing) capable
The wing of the Timber offers practical details such as lowered winglets and functional flaps. In addition, the optional slats (included in the scope of delivery) can be fitted to optimize low-speed flight characteristics and STOL (Short Takeoff and Landing) performance. In combination with the lightweight design and the powerful brushless motor, this enables take-offs and landings at very short distances - often in just a few meters.

Flexible power
The factory-installed brushless motor includes a Spektrum Avian 70A Smart Lite ESC, a specially tuned motor and a 2-blade propeller. With a 3S LiPo battery, it delivers plenty of thrust, while a 4S battery provides even more power and unlimited vertical performance - without any additional modifications or upgrades. Plus, the convenient top maintenance hatch and larger battery compartment make it easy to use batteries between 3S 2200mAh and 4S 5000mAh to provide a variety of performance options and flight times.

Increased durability
The composite-reinforced hollow core construction made of EPO material ensures a lightweight yet robust airframe. The Timber 1.5m also features a reinforced wing that improves aileron control and roll rate. In addition, durable and reliable servos with metal gears are installed all round.

LED lighting
Like the original, the Timber 1.5 m 10th Anniversary Special Edition is equipped with realistic-looking LED landing, navigation and strobe lights, which are installed ex works and powered by the flight battery.

Simple assembly
No glue is required for assembly, and as the few parts are simply screwed together, the Timber 1.5 m is ready to fly faster than the flight battery is charged. The two-piece wing with integrated servo and LED connectors also makes transportation and storage easier than ever before.
