The AeroScout™ S 2 offers three flight modes—Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced—so you can select the desired level of stability and control with the push of a button. The “Pusher” propulsion configuration and EPO construction make it more durable than other models in its class. The tricycle landing gear with large tires and a steerable nose wheel allows for easy takeoffs and landings on a wide variety of surfaces, from asphalt to grass. Alternatively, you can install the optional floats (sold separately) to take off from ponds and lakes!

The HobbyZone® AeroScout™ S 2 1.1m is the perfect trainer because it makes learning to fly a remote-controlled airplane easier and more fun than ever before! Equipped with exclusive SAFE® (Sensor Assisted Flight Envelope) technology, it helps prevent oversteering, loss of orientation, and crashes, so virtually anyone can learn to fly. With Beginner, Advanced, and Expert modes, you can use a switch to select the stability and control you need or want to try out. Plus, with the Panic Recovery feature, you can instantly return to stable flight with the push of a button! The unique “Pusher” propulsion configuration ensures greater safety and provides better protection for the propellers and motor. Furthermore, the aircraft is made of advanced EPO material, which makes it particularly durable. Large wheels and a steerable nose wheel allow for takeoffs and landings on various surfaces, such as grass in parks, soccer fields, or other suitable flying sites. Alternatively, you can install optional floats (sold separately) to take off from the water!
Both versions (RTF Basic and BNF Basic) are equipped with a Spektrum Avian 30A Smart Lite ESC, which transmits a variety of real-time telemetry data—such as motor RPM, current, battery voltage, and more—to compatible Spektrum AirWare™ transmitters. In addition, the DXS transmitter included with the RTF Basic version displays the approximate battery level via several LEDs. Both versions also include an upgraded AR631+ receiver, which comes with a pre-installed Smart Transmitter File (STF). This allows you to automatically import all settings for NX and iX transmitters during binding.
The Ready-To-Fly (RTF) Basic version includes everything you need to fly except for a battery and charger. This lets you use a convenient and cost-effective Spektrum Powerstage bundle (battery + charger) or a separate battery and charger of your choice! The included Spektrum DXS 2.4 GHz transmitter can also be used with other Bind-N-Fly® (BNF) Basic aircraft once you’ve mastered flying the AeroScout S 2. For experienced pilots, there’s also a Bind-N-Fly (BNF) Basic version that lets you use your preferred Spektrum transmitter as well as your existing batteries and chargers. Both versions feature a powerful and efficient brushless motor, including a telemetry-capable Smart Lite ESC, receiver, and servos, all factory-installed in the rugged EPO airframe. Assembly is quick and easy, requiring no glue or special tools.
The RTF Basic version also includes a full version of the RealFlight Trainer Edition RC flight simulator, which runs on a wide range of PCs—from budget laptops to gaming desktops running Windows® 10 or 11. This simulator features many of Horizon Hobby’s most popular trainer airplanes and helicopters, including the AeroScout S 2 1.1m, as well as built-in Virtual Flight Instructor lessons. In addition, there is unlockable content such as nearly two dozen “Next Step After a Trainer” (Skill Level 2) aircraft and variants, as well as 4 airfields, which are unlocked after just 2–4 hours of training with the trainer models. Other features include a modern, user-friendly interface, multiplayer options to train and fly online with others, the ability to enable wind, unlock seaplane flights, and much more! This allows new pilots to practice comfortably at home on a PC or on the go with a laptop. Simply connect the updated DXS remote control via a USB-C cable to a compatible USB port on your computer, and you’re ready to go!
And the fun doesn’t stop once you’ve learned to fly! In Expert Mode, the AeroScout S 2 is capable of performing aerobatic maneuvers such as loops, rolls, inverted flight, and more. You can even use the same DXS remote control included in the RTF Basic version, along with the same battery and charger, to fly a variety of BNF Basic “Next Step” (Skill Level 2) aircraft, including the E-flite P-51D Mustang 1.0m, T-28 Trojan 1.1m, Timber 1.5m, Habu SS 50mm EDF, and many others!

Ready-To-Fly Basic Flexibility
This Ready-To-Fly (RTF) Basic version includes a Spektrum™ DXS controller/transmitter with industry-leading DSMX® 2.4 GHz technology, as well as everything you need to fly—except for a rechargeable lithium-polymer (LiPo) battery and a charger for the aircraft. The convenient and cost-effective Spektrum™ Powerstage 2 Bundle (SPMXPSA200) includes a compatible 3S 2200mAh Smart G2 LiPo battery and an S120 Smart Charger that can be used with various USB power sources. Alternatively, you can also use a separate 3S 1300–2200mAh battery and a charger of your choice!


RealFlight Included
RealFlight is the world’s leading RC flight simulator, and the included full version of the Trainer Edition features many of Horizon Hobby’s most popular trainer aircraft, including Blade, HobbyZone, and E-flite—such as the 1.1 m AeroScout S 2. It also includes Virtual Flight Instructor lessons that help new pilots successfully learn to fly by practicing from the comfort of their own home on a desktop PC or on the go with a laptop! The included DXS controller/transmitter can be easily connected to a compatible USB port on your computer via a USB-C cable.


Exclusive Technologies

Beginner Mode
In this flight mode, the aircraft has pitch and roll angle limits to prevent oversteering, which could lead to loss of orientation and crashes. As soon as you release the control sticks, the aircraft automatically returns to a stable, level flight attitude. This lets you fly with ease and focus entirely on maneuvering the aircraft through the sky. This mode also makes takeoffs and landings much easier!


Advanced Mode
This flight mode gives you more freedom in pitch and roll movements but prevents oversteering. The aircraft does not automatically return to a level flight attitude. This allows you to fly tighter turns and climb or descend faster as you continue to develop your skills.


Experienced Mode
In Experienced Mode, there are no limits on pitch or roll angles, giving you full control! You can even fly upside down and perform impressive aerobatic maneuvers like loops, rolls, and much more.


Panic Function
If you lose control of the aircraft in Intermediate or Experienced Mode, simply press the Panic Recovery button or switch to Beginner Mode and release the control sticks. SAFE technology automatically returns the aircraft to a stable, level flight attitude!


Telemetry-Capable
The AeroScout S 2 1.1 m is equipped with a Spektrum Smart Lite ESC, which can transmit a wide range of real-time telemetry data from the power system to compatible remote controls. This includes, among other things, the approximate remaining battery capacity, which is indicated via multiple LEDs and audible warning signals on the DXS transmitter (included in the RTF Basic Set). In addition, the ESC provides data such as motor RPM, current, total battery voltage, and more to Spektrum AirWare™-compatible transmitters (including the DX6e and 8e, DX6 G2/3 and 8 G2, DX9, NX6 through NX20, iX12 through iX20, and others) while you’re flying.


Extremely rugged
The unique design and “pusher” propulsion configuration protect both the propellers and the motor while ensuring greater safety. The airframe, made of modern EPO material, is lightweight yet sturdy enough to withstand the demands of daily flight operations without sustaining damage. Easy Assembly
The AeroScout S 2 1.1 m arrives mostly pre-assembled, with the power system, receiver, and servos already installed. All you have to do is complete a few simple assembly steps—no glue or special tools required. You’ll be ready to fly faster than it takes to charge the battery!


Sturdy Landing Gear
The versatile three-wheel landing gear with a steerable nose wheel and oversized tires provides improved traction and makes takeoffs and landings easier on various surfaces—from paved runways to grassy areas and gravel paths.


Optional Floats
