Experience Level 2 - Some experience required
Level 2 aircraft, like this model, are ideal for pilots who already have some experience and are able to assemble, set up and fly similar models. Although this is the easiest Gee Bee model to fly to date, it is not suitable as a first radio-controlled airplane for beginners or as a "e;next step after a trainer "e; for pilots with little flying time. You should already have experience and the skills necessary to fly higher performance ultra-micro models such as the various UMX Timber models or larger models such as the E-flite T-28 Trojan 1.1m, Commander mPd 1.4m, Timber 1.5m or similar models in this class before attempting the UMX Gee Bee R-2.
Are you new to RC flying? If so, we recommend you start with one of our specially designed trainer airplanes, such as the HobbyZone Apprentice STOL S 700mm. This model is equipped with the exclusive and innovative SAFE technology, which makes it possible for almost anyone to learn to fly successfully. The Ready-To-Fly (RTF) version includes everything you need to fly and is the perfect choice for new RC pilots.


Exclusive technologies
The UMX Gee Bee R-2 with a wingspan of 510 mm is equipped with the exclusive Spektrum AS3X and SAFE Select technologies. AS3X works in the background to compensate for the effects of wind and turbulence, providing a smooth flight feel as if you were piloting a much larger aircraft. Optional SAFE Select technology provides pitch and roll angle limits and automatic self-stabilization that can be turned on and off with a switch. This makes this model the easiest flyable foam model ever!


Bind-N-Fly equipment advantage
You already have a Spektrum™ remote control? With Bind-N-Fly (BNF) model aircraft, it's never been easier to get airborne quickly while enjoying the best possible control. The models come fully equipped with a power system, servos and a Spektrum 2.4GHz receiver. All you need to do is bind the receiver to a compatible transmitter, complete any final assembly steps and you're ready to take off!


Higher performance
The factory-installed brushless drive system is equipped with a significantly quieter brushless motor that is compatible with 2S and 3S batteries. With 2S 280-300mAh batteries (a suitable JST-RCY to JST-PH adapter, e.g. the SPMXCA327, may be required) this setup offers similar performance to the original. With 3S 300mAh batteries, however, the model becomes significantly faster and enables unlimited performance.


Telemetry capable
The UMX Gee Bee is equipped with a control unit that integrates an ESC and a Spektrum receiver. This combination enables real-time transmission of flight battery voltage to compatible Spektrum radio controls with AirWare technology (such as DX6e and 8e, DX6 G2/G3 and 8 G2, DX9, NX6 to NX20, iX12 to iX20 and others) during flight.


Scale details
In addition to the true-to-original silhouette, scale details such as tensioning wires on the wings and landing gear, a transparent canopy, a pilot figure and other fine details ensure an impressive appearance and a realistic flying experience with this unique model.


Robust design
The advanced EPS material construction provides a lightweight yet robust airframe with more surface detail. This material is lighter and stiffer than EPO or EPP. It is also easy to repair with odorless, suitable superglue, Foam 2 Foam, epoxy resin or other foam-friendly adhesives. If a part of the airframe or a component is damaged and cannot be repaired, a wide range of spare parts is available.


Fully assembled
The UMX Gee Bee is 100% ready to fly and fully pre-assembled - straight out of the box! Equipped with advanced Spektrum 2.4 GHz technology, it can be connected to any DSMX/DSM2-capable remote control with at least 5 channels. So you can take to the air just a few minutes after unpacking.
