The Truman Senate War Investigating Committee described the North American Aviation P-51 Mustang as “the most aerodynamically perfect fighter aircraft in existence.” During World War II, it destroyed trains, ships, and enemy installations throughout Western Europe. The “D” variant, equipped with the legendary Merlin engine, gave the U.S. Army Air Forces a high-flying, long-range fighter capable of escorting heavy bomber formations all the way to Berlin and back. The original E-flite P-51D Mustang 1.5m also went all out to recreate the famous fighter with exceptional detail, impressive handling, powerful performance, and a commanding presence. Now it’s available again this time in the unique and iconic “Big Beautiful Doll” design that made Colonel John Landers famous. During World War II, he scored a total of 14.5 aerial victories, including 4.5 in the P-51. The model features softer main landing gear tires and continues to offer the same extra-scale details and functional features, including LED navigation lights, sequentially controlled main and tail wheel landing gear doors, landing flaps, and much more. Both versions are equipped with the proven, reliable, and 6S-compatible motor, as well as a Spektrum Avian 100A Smart ESC. The BNF Basic version also includes an AR637TA+ receiver that transmits real-time telemetry data and supports the advanced technologies AS3X+, SAFE Select, and Smart Transmitter File. The 1.5 m P-51D Mustang is the largest, most detailed, and most powerful replica of the legendary fighter aircraft that E-flite has ever developed! In addition to its true-to-original silhouette, it offers a wealth of additional scale details, including molded-in panel lines and maintenance hatches, mock-up weapons, and removable auxiliary fuel tanks, as well as the impressive “Big Beautiful Doll” design. Functional extra scale features include LED navigation lights, sequenced landing gear doors for the main and tail wheels, landing flaps, and more. The reliable electric retractable landing gear controls both the tailwheel and the main landing gear, which is equipped with shock absorbers and fully ball-bearing-mounted wheels. The new, softer tires with a diamond tread pattern allow for takeoffs and landings on various surfaces, including asphalt and grass. At the heart of the model is a proven, factory-installed brushless motor that is compatible with 6S LiPo batteries. With a 6S battery (3200–7000 mAh), the Mustang reaches airspeeds of over 130 km/h and offers unlimited climb performance for a flight experience that surpasses the original! Both versions of the model include a 100-amp Spektrum Avian Smart ESC. The BNF Basic version is additionally equipped with an AR637TA+ receiver, which transmits full-range telemetry data such as battery voltage, current, temperature, and more in real time to compatible transmitters, whether using Smart or non-Smart batteries. In addition, the receiver offers the benefits of improved AS3X+ technology and the optional SAFE Select feature, making it one of the easiest-to-fly giant-scale P-51 models. The unique 3-piece wing design ensures maximum convenience during transport and storage, as the main landing gear is integrated into the center section and the outer wing sections can be snapped into place easily and securely without tools or screws. Skill Level 4 - Experienced pilots (advanced experience required)
Skill Level 4 aircraft, such as this model, are suitable for more experienced RC pilots who already have the skills to assemble, set up, and fly similar models. This PNP (Plug-N-Play) version requires more experience and skill than the BNF Basic (Bind-N-Fly) version, since you’ll need to install a receiver that isn’t already equipped with the pre-tuned AS3X and SAFE Select technologies. You should already have experience and the necessary skills in handling models such as the E-flite P-51D Mustang 1.0m, the T-28 Trojan 1.1m, 1.2m to 1.5m scale Warbirds, or similar models before attempting to fly the P-51D Mustang 1.5m PNP version.


Plug-N-Play® Configuration
The Plug-N-Play (PNP) version comes with a factory-installed power system and servos that can be connected directly to a compatible receiver of your choice (sold separately). You’ll also need a radio control system and a battery (also sold separately). Just install the receiver, complete the final assembly steps, and you’re ready to go!


Smart Technology
The P-51D Mustang 1.5 m is equipped with an exclusive Spektrum Avian Smart ESC, which provides a wide range of real-time telemetry data from the power system, including total battery voltage and more, with both Smart and non-Smart batteries. This data is transmitted via compatible receivers (including the AR637TA+ installed in the BNF Basic version) and Spektrum AirWare-enabled transmitters (such as the DX6e and 8e, DX6 G2/3 and 8 G2, DX9, NX6 through NX20, iX12 through iX20, and others) during flight.


Functional Scale Extras
Factory-installed LED navigation lights, functional landing flaps and control surfaces with internal hinges, as well as sequentially controlled main landing gear and tailwheel flaps, are functional scale extras that further enhance the true-to-prototype flying experience.
