Spektrum Smart LiPo batteries also keep an error log that records the number of overheating, deep discharges and overcharges, among other things. This data helps to ensure that the selected battery is suitable for the respective application. A Smart battery automatically transmits its charging parameters to a Spektrum Smart charger, which makes the charging process particularly easy. The charge rate of each Smart battery is individually adjustable so that you can make optimum use of batteries with higher charge allowances.

Smart battery technology
When connected to a Spektrum Smart charger, the individual parameters and status of your Smart LiPo battery are read from the Smart memory microchip integrated in the battery. You can use the charger to define and save preferred settings such as charging rates and self-discharge options, so that you only have to press the "e;Start "e;button to charge the battery. Smart technology takes care of the rest. This Smart LiPo battery is factory fitted with the next generation IC2™ output connector, which transmits stored information to your Smart charger via a data line.


Data rich
An integrated microchip allows each Smart battery to store important information including battery brand, chemistry, cell count, capacity, number of charge cycles, number of discharges, C-rate, battery temperature and internal resistance. In addition, each battery stores a log of critical events such as overcharging, deep discharge and overtemperature. This allows you to make informed decisions for each individual battery when preparing your equipment for a day on the flying field or the track.


Quick and easy
Preset charge, discharge and storage parameters are automatically transferred from your Spektrum™ Smart G2 battery to your Smart charger. This makes charging as easy as connecting the battery. The charging rate of individual batteries can also be individually adjusted so that you can make optimum use of batteries with higher charging allowances. The battery's integrated microchip saves the last charging rate set so that these settings are automatically reactivated the next time you connect the battery.


Smart discharge
LiPo batteries with Spektrum Smart™ technology take care of themselves almost automatically. In conjunction with a Spektrum Smart charger, Smart batteries automatically discharge to the preset storage voltage after a rest period of between 12 and 240 hours. This feature extends the life of your Smart batteries by preventing them from remaining fully charged for long periods of time, which can damage the chemical structure of the lithium polymer cells. The result is a longer battery life expectancy and consistently better performance over the entire service life.
