The DHC-6 Twin Otter was developed by de Havilland Canada in 1965. Designed as a rugged STOL (Short Take-Off and Landing) aircraft, the Twin Otter transported passengers and cargo to extreme environments such as the icy Antarctic or the scorching hot desert of North Africa. For 60 years, the Twin Otter has been considered the most reliable and versatile aircraft in its class! The E-flite Twin Otter 1.4m is a faithful replica and the ideal twin-motor model for intermediate to experienced RC pilots. It is versatile, easy to fly and packed with practical features including LED navigation and landing lights, flaps and mounting hardware for optional floats. The BNF Basic version also features the improved AS3X+ technology, which compensates for wind and turbulence even more effectively. It also offers the optional SAFE Select technology, which makes flying even easier - together with differential thrust and thrust reverser for precise ground handling and other maneuvers! But that's not all: remove the landing gear, install the optional floats, which are also used for the popular Timber models in 1.2m and 1.5m (sold separately), and you're ready for flights over ponds and small lakes!
The E-flite Twin Otter 1.4m not only impresses with details such as integrated panel lines, ribbed control surfaces and a modern scale color scheme, but also with functional features. These include working flaps, LED navigation and landing lights and contra-rotating propellers with black and white stripes that look great both stationary and in motion. The factory-installed servos, including a particularly robust metal gear servo for controlling the nose landing gear, ensure precise and reliable control at any speed. Both versions of the model feature a powerful drive system with Spektrum Outrunner motors and an Avian 25-amp Dual Smart Lite ESC, which is compatible with popular 3S and 4S batteries from 2200-3200 mAh.
The BNF Basic version is also equipped with a factory-installed Spektrum AR631+ receiver that offers exclusive and enhanced AS3X+ and optional SAFE Select technologies. It also features standard differential thrust and optional usable thrust reverser, which can be used for special ground maneuvers and other functions. Skill level 3 - experience required
Skill Level 3 airplanes, like this model, are for more experienced RC pilots who already have the skills to assemble, set up and fly similar models. The PNP (Plug-N-Play) version requires more experience and skill than the BNF Basic (Bind-N-Fly) version, as you will need to install your own receiver that is not already equipped with the tuned AS3X+ and SAFE Select technologies. You should already have experience and the skills necessary to successfully assemble and fly models such as the E-flite T-28 Trojan 1.1m, Valiant 1.3m, Commander mPd 1.4m, Turbo Timber Evolution 1.5m or other models in this class before attempting the Twin Otter 1.4m PNP version.

The Plug-N-Play (PNP) version is factory-fitted with drive system and servos - ready to bind to a suitable receiver of your choice*. Just add the transmitter* and battery*, install the receiver, complete the final assembly and you're ready to go! *Receiver, transmitter and battery sold separately

Uniquely powerful
Differential thrust and the optional motor/thrust reverser (included as standard with the BNF Basic version; a Smart-compatible receiver is required for the PNP version) provide improved ground control, making taxiing, take-off and landing much easier. They also enable special aerobatic maneuvers. Both functions are particularly useful when the model is flown from the water with the optional floats (sold separately). Incidentally, the floats are the same as those used in the popular Timber models with 1.2 m and 1.5 m wingspans.

Compatible with 3S and 4S
The factory-installed brushless dual-motor drive consists of a 25-amp Spektrum Avian Dual Smart Lite ESC and specially tuned motors that deliver plenty of thrust with a single 3S 2200-3200mAh LiPo battery. Alternatively, you can use a 4S battery to enjoy even more power and unlimited climbing ability - without any additional modifications or upgrades!

It is also equipped with functional landing flaps for improved slow flight characteristics and shorter take-offs and landings. Simple assembly
No glue or special tools are required for final assembly, so the Twin Otter 1.4m is ready to fly faster than it takes to charge the battery! Although compact enough to fit fully assembled in almost any vehicle, the two-piece wing can be easily removed thanks to tool-free connections, making transportation and storage even more convenient.
