Introduction

The 1/10th scale Axial® SCX10™ III Jeep® JL Wrangler 4WD marks the next step in off-road performance. The SCX10™ III continues to include key components that have made the SCX10™ vehicles so successful, but enhances the chassis realism with details like a V8 engine mock-up for the 540 front engine. This is connected to a realistic transmission and transfer case like a 1:1 vehicle. The RTR version includes a Spektrum™ DX3™ 3-channel 2.4GHz DSMR® radio control system and a Firma™ 40A ESC/receiver. All the advantages of the innovative Spektrum™ Smart technology are at your disposal.

Overview

The SCX10™ III Jeep® JL Wrangler transmission already has a third channel with DIG function ex works, which you can use to lock the rear axle on the transmitter side to achieve a tighter turning circle with the front-wheel drive. Alternatively, you can also use this third channel to set up the vehicle with a 2-speed gearbox to select between high and low transmission. To access the 2-speed gearbox and the DIG function simultaneously, simply add another servo and use a remote control with at least four channels (e.g. the 5-channel Spektrum ™ DX5).

The SCX10™ III Jeep® JLU Wrangler kit uses portal axles to improve performance by increasing ground clearance and reducing torque twist. Space is also provided on the side rails for drivers who prefer "shorty" packs. Wheel arches and underbody conceal internal components that are normally visible from the side of the chassis.

Rounding out the chassis is a four-door Jeep® Wrangler Unlimited body with roll cage, hood and cowl vents, windshield wipers, mirrors, door handles and other molded-in details, as well as a detailed interior and LED lighting. New, taller and wider, officially licensed Nitto Trail Grappler tires on 3-piece beadlock wheels provide more realism and grip on gravel, rocks and all other off-road tracks.





TRUE-TO-SCALE ENGINE DETAILS
True-to-scale details such as a V8 engine modeled on the original, transmission housing and transfer case protect the electric motor and ensure a realistic appearance.


MULTIPLE BATTERY MOUNTING POSITIONS
The SCX10™ III Jeep® JLU Wrangler features a standard battery compartment that accepts standard full-size LiPo or NiMH batteries. There's also room on the side rails for drivers who prefer smaller batteries or need additional batteries for other accessories.


DIG TRANSMISSION WITH TWO-SPEED OPTION
With a 3-channel remote control, the kit's gearbox can be set in two ways: high and low ratio or with a DIG function that locks the rear axle on command from the transmitter to increase the turning radius through the front wheel drive. With an additional servo and a 4-channel remote control, both options can be made available simultaneously. The gearbox is equipped with ball bearings and metal gears to ensure a long service life.


PORTAL OFFSET AXLE HOUSING WITH HYPOID RING AND PINION GEARBOX
Portal axles, as found in some original off-road vehicles, provide more ground clearance and reduce torque to other drivetrain components to improve performance.


SUSPENSION WITH ADJUSTABLE WHEELBASE
The wheelbase of the SCX10™ III Jeep® JLU Wrangler kit is adjustable with optional control arms, allowing you to select the wheelbase of your choice. The chassis is even stiffer than the SCX10™ II predecessor for less twist and even more precise handling.


OPTIMIZED CHASSIS GEOMETRY
The chassis geometry is based on the SCX10™ II, but has been slightly refined for the new chassis layout. The front suspension has been optimized to reduce steering response, while the rear 4-link reduces twist.


WHEEL ARCH LININGS AND UNDERBODY SIDES
The SCX10™ III Jeep® JLU Wrangler Kit body's wheel wells and underbody sides hide the internal components that are normally visible from the side of the chassis.


LICENSED 3-PIECE BEADLOCK WHEELS
These officially licensed KMC XD Machete wheels are legendary in the off-road world and feature a satin chrome finish. They feature stunning scale details. Because they are three-piece beadlock wheels, the tires are easy to install, remove and replace without the need for gluing.


NITTO TRAIL GRAPPLER TIRES
Mounted on the SCX10™ III Jeep® JL Wrangler, Nitto Trail Grappler tires with R35 compound are larger and wider (4.74 x 1.7), providing more ground clearance and grip on any obstacle that gets in your way.


ADJUSTABLE ALUMINUM SUSPENSION STRUTS
The oil-filled shocks have clear anodized threaded bodies, a single threaded spring and an emulsion cap with bolt for easier maintenance. The shock absorbers are adjustable to achieve the best damping rate. Their enlarged bore provides more fluid volume for better performance.


SPECTRUM™ DX3™ 2.4GHz DSMR® REMOTE CONTROL
The included Spektrum™ DX3™ remote control with exclusive DSMR® technology offers superior range and interference immunity. It is fully compatible with the Smart Telemetry offered by the built-in Spektrum™ Company™ Smart 40A controller/receiver combination.

JEEP WRANGLER UNLIMITED 4-DOOR BODY
The true-to-scale body of the Jeep® Wrangler Unlimited is modeled after the original and features a detailed interior for a "super-scale" look. The interior features a roll cage, steering wheel and driver's head. The body also includes many faithful details such as the front radiator, the front air vents, the radiator grille, the windshield wipers, the mirrors, the door handles, the fuel filler flap or the spare wheel.
