The E-flite® Turbo Timber® SWS (Sport Wood Series) 2.0 m is a larger and sportier version of the incredibly popular Turbo Timber 1.5 m models and also offers the advantages of a light, stiff and robust wooden construction!

Introduction

E-flite® Timber® models are among the most popular and best-selling RC airplanes of all time. They are known for their beginner-friendly handling, Short Take Off and Landing (STOL) flight characteristics and sporty performance - and they are among the most popular all-around flight models for a wide variety of pilots. The E-flite® Turbo Timber® SWS (Sport Wood Series) 2.0m is E-flite's largest Timber model to date and also offers the benefits of light, stiff and strong wood construction to provide flight characteristics that are different from similar class foam models. It is available in an ARF version, assembled and ready for installation of your preferred power system and electronics. The BNF® Basic version also comes with six factory-installed servos, a 4S to 6S compatible Spektrum™ Avian™ motor and Smart ESC, and an 8-channel receiver with AS3X and SAFE Select technology.

Overview

The Turbo Timber® SWS (Sport Wood Series) 2.0 m is the largest E-flite Timber model to date! It is based on the design of the hard foam Turbo Timber 1.5 m models, but features a stiff, strong and lightweight wood construction. The balsa and lightweight plywood airframe comes factory-finished with UltraCote® sheeting and is mostly factory-assembled so you can fly the model in no time - without the use of glue or special tools. A two-piece wing facilitates storage and transportation and is equipped with functional landing flaps for shorter take-offs and landings and improved slow flight characteristics. In addition, you have the option of using a crow flap position - and/or full span flaperons for even better STOL capabilities.

The BNF® (Bind-N-Fly®) Basic version is equipped with six factory-installed Spektrum A6380 digital servos with metal gears, a 4S to 6S compatible Avian 5055-500Kv outrunner motor and a 100A Smart ESC that provides plenty of telemetry data from the power system with smart and non-smart batteries (via compatible Spektrum AirWare™-equipped transmitters). Also included is an AR8360T receiver that transmits comprehensive real-time telemetry data including total battery voltage, current draw, ESC temperature and more... plus motor thrust reversing for special taxi maneuvers and the benefits of AS3X® and optional SAFE® Select. The ARF (Almost-Ready-To-Fly) version is ready for the installation of your preferred electronics and drive system!

Both versions feature simple and durable aluminum landing gear with oversized Tundra-style wheels. The optional carbon Z-floats can also be fitted along with the mounting kit (both sold separately). They also feature factory-installed LED navigation and landing lights, as well as clear windows for a prototypical look and a convenient top fuselage cover for quick and easy battery changes. All this adds up to a great first wooden model suitable for everyday use, which can also perform simple aerobatics, and which even advanced and experienced pilots will enjoy flying!





Experience level 2 ? Some experience required
Experience level 2 airplanes like this one are suitable for RC pilots who already have some experience assembling, programming and flying models of a similar class. And although this BNF® Basic version is equipped with optional SAFE® Select, it is not a suitable first RC airplane for beginners or a 'next step after a trainer' model for pilots with little flying experience. Before flying the Turbo Timber SWS 2.0 m, you should have the necessary experience to successfully fly STOL-capable models and/or larger airplanes such as the E-flite Turbo Timber Evolution 1.5 m, the Carbon-Z Cessna 150T 2.1 m, the Carbon-Z Cub SS 2.1 m or a model of similar class.


Smart technology
The Turbo Timber SWS 2.0m is equipped with an exclusive Spektrum™ Avian™ Smart ESC that provides a variety of real-time telemetry data from the propulsion system - including motor RPM, current draw, battery voltage and more ? with Smart and non-Smart batteries (via compatible receivers, including the factory-installed AR8360T and Spektrum AirWare™-equipped transmitters, including DX6e and 8e, DX6 G2/3 and 8 G2, DX9, NX6 to 20, iX12 to 20 and others).


Flexible drive system
The factory-installed Spektrum™ Avian™ brushless outrunner is 4S to 6S compatible and offers a wide range of power performance ? from sport flying and simple aerobatics with 4S batteries to torquing with unlimited vertical climb power in combination with 6S batteries! In addition, the practical, magnetically held upper fuselage cover makes it easy to change the popular 3200?7000 mAh batteries.


Wooden airframe
The balsa and lightweight plywood airframe is light yet stiff and strong to provide a flying experience you won't find in hard foam models! Best of all, the model comes mostly factory assembled and ready to cover with UltraCote®. In addition, the BNF® Basic version also includes durable, factory-installed Spektrum™ A6380 digital servos with metal gears. And in the unfortunate event that you damage aircraft parts or components and can't repair them, a full line of replacement parts is available.


Simple assembly
The BNF®-Basic version of the Turbo Timber SWS 2.0 m comes mostly factory assembled with the drive system, servos and receiver installed. The ARF version is also mostly pre-assembled at the factory, so all you have to do is a quick and easy final assembly - without glue or special tools - and you'll be ready to fly in less time than with almost any other wooden model!


Model-like features
Like other Timber models, the Turbo Timber SWS is equipped with realistic-looking LED landing and navigation lights that are factory-installed and powered by the flight battery. And although it's not a scale model, it also features transparent windows for an even more prototypical look.

The Turbo Timber SWS 2.0m is based on the design of the very popular Turbo Timber 1.5m models. But it also has the advantages of a stiff and robust wooden construction, which gives it an even sportier flight performance with excellent high-speed handling and amazing aerobatic capabilities. It is equipped with functional landing flaps for shorter take-offs and landings and improved slow flight characteristics. You also have the option to use a crow flap position and/or full span flaperons for improved STOL capabilities.


Versatile landing gear options
From dense grass to gravel and dirt roads to local lakes and ponds, the Turbo Timber SWS 2.0 m lets you fly off these and many other surfaces with ease. The simple but rugged aluminum landing gear is equipped with oversized tundra-style wheels/tires to smooth out the bumps of rough surfaces. In addition, the optional Carbon Z® floats (EFLA5600; sold separately) and mounting kit (EFLA5605; sold separately) offer interchangeability between wheels and floats.
