E-flite 4-Site 3D FF - Introduction

In the early 2000s, home-built "e;Shockflyer "e; were extremely popular as they were made of rigid foam panels, which were available in many DIY stores. Today, most rigid foam models are fully molded model airplanes - and few can match the unique flight characteristics and performance of cruciform models - especially those designed and built for aerobatics and 3D flight! The E-flite® 4-Site 3D FF (Flat Foamy) 800mm is based on the original F3P and UMX models and is a biplane alternative to the popular Eratix 3D FF that has taken the market by storm. It is perfect for experienced pilots who already build and fly cruciform models, advanced pilots who are interested but shy away from the complicated build, and less experienced pilots who have always wanted to try such models but have been put off by the extra effort and skill required. The 4-Site 3D FF is therefore the easiest to fly, most comfortable and most affordable shockflyer biplane model to date!

The E-flite® 4-Site 3D FF (Flat Foamy) 800mm offers aggressive aerobatic, relaxed sport and comfortable slow flight characteristics of similar models - without the hassle of buying components and building the model! It's easy to screw and click together and can be ready to fly in less time than it takes to charge a battery - compared to the hours of glue and tape required to assemble conventional cruciform models. It is a biplane alternative to the best-selling Eratix 3D FF with a shorter wingspan but more wing content for an overall lower wing loading. Its lightweight yet extremely durable EPP airframe comes mostly assembled and includes three durable and precise servos with metal gears on all control surfaces. The factory-installed power system features a 3S-compatible brushless motor and a Spektrum Avian Smart ESC that is compatible with 850-1000 mAh smart and non-smart batteries. The BNF Basic version is equipped with an AR630+ receiver that offers real-time telemetry data as well as AS3X+ and SAFE Select technology. The 4-Site is small and light enough to be flown indoors in gyms and similar spaces or outdoors in yards, parks and sports fields, making it a versatile addition to the existing fleet for a variety of pilots!

Experience Level 2 - Some experience required
Experience Level 2 aircraft such as this are suitable for model pilots who already have some experience and the skills to assemble, program and fly similar class models. Although the 4-Site 3D FF is easier to assemble and fly than other cruciform models, it is not suitable as a first model airplane for beginners, nor as a first aerobatic/3D model for model pilots with little flying experience. Before attempting to fly the 4-Site 3D FF BNF Basic, you should have the necessary experience to fly models such as the E-flite UMX Ultrix, UMX Timber X, T-28 Trojan 1.1m, Sportix 1.1m, Timber X 1.2m or models of a similar class.

Exclusive technologies
The BNF Basic version is equipped with the exclusive Spektrum AS3X+ and SAFE Select technologies. AS3X+ works behind the scenes to smooth out the effects of wind and turbulence for a safe feel that makes it feel like you're flying a much larger airplane. The optional SAFE Select offers bank angle limits as well as automatic self-leveling that can be turned on and off at the touch of a button. And if you don't want to activate the SAFE Select function, simply bind the receiver normally and only AS3X+ is active. The receiver also has a Smart model file stored on it that allows you to import model memory settings for NX and iX series transmitters during the binding process to get you ready to fly faster than ever before!

Smart technology
The 4-Site 3D FF is equipped with an exclusive Spektrum Avian Smart Lite ESC that provides a variety of real-time telemetry data from the power system during flight, including total battery voltage, current draw, motor RPM and more with both smart and non-smart batteries - and via compatible receivers (including the AR630+) and Spektrum AirWare-equipped transmitters (including DX6e and DX8e, DX6 G2/3 and DX8 G2, DX9, NX6 to 20, iX12 to 20 and others).

Unique flight characteristics
Like other Shockflyer models, the 4-Site 3D FF is capable of slow cruise, sport flying, basic aerobatics and, of course, aggressive 3D flying - all in the same flight! It offers a truly versatile flying experience that advanced and experienced pilots will appreciate, whether flying indoors in gyms or outdoors in yards, parks or sports fields.

High performance
The factory-installed brushless drive system features a specially tuned Spektrum outrunner motor. This drive system delivers plenty of thrust for unlimited vertical climb and 3D performance with 850-1000 mAh 3S batteries!

Easy assembly
Unlike other similar cruciform models that are only available as kits without power and RC components, the 4-Site 3D FF comes mostly factory assembled with the power system, servos and receiver (BNF base version only) installed. All you have to do is perform a quick and easy final assembly by plugging and clicking together - without glue, tape or special tools - and you'll be ready to fly in less time than it takes to charge a battery!

Durable design
Three factory-installed digital servos with metal gears on all control surfaces and carbon fiber and composite-reinforced, high-density EPP construction makes for a lightweight but stiff and durable airframe. In the unfortunate event that you damage parts or components of the airframe and cannot repair it, a full range of spare parts is available.
