Introduction

For almost two decades, the Apprentice® has been one of the most popular 'traditional' trainer models for many beginner model pilots. trainer models. The HobbyZone® Apprentice STOL S 700mm has been downsized from the popular Apprentice 1.5m and 1.2m models and optimized to offer STOL features similar to the E-flite® best-selling Timber series. In addition, the ultra-micro size makes the model more affordable and practical, allowing more people to fly in more places and on smaller surfaces - from yards and parks to sports fields! The Apprentice STOL S 700mm features Horizon Hobby's exclusive and innovative SAFE® technology, making it possible for almost anyone to successfully learn to fly model airplanes. Underneath the robust exterior is an efficient brushless motor and a factory-installed ESC, receiver and servos. The RTF version also includes everything you need to fly, including a Spektrum battery, charger and SLT6 controller/transmitter. The transmitter can also be connected directly to a PC with a USB-C port and offers a simple plug-and-play function for simulator flying with the included trial version of the RealFlight Trainer Edition!

The HobbyZone Apprentice STOL S 700mm is a scaled down version of one of the most popular training airplanes of all time to make learning to fly model airplanes even easier and more fun! The ultra-micro size makes it the perfect choice as a smaller trainer model that can be flown in large yards, parks, soccer fields and other suitable places where larger models cannot normally be mastered by beginners. In addition to the ?traditional? trainer design, the model has also been optimized to provide additional STOL (Short Take Off and Landing) characteristics similar to the E-flite® Timber® series models. The brushless power system is compatible with popular and affordable 300mAh 2S batteries and gives the model the power to fly in windy conditions (up to 8kmh), unlike other micro and mini models. This power, combined with the bipod landing gear and oversized tires, allows it to take off almost instantly from asphalt, sand, gravel and even the grassy surfaces of many parks and sports fields. The advanced EPO construction is lightweight yet incredibly durable, and the detachable wing makes transportation, storage and replacement as convenient as possible. 4-channel control and SAFE (Sensor Assisted Flight Envelope) technology with 'Beginner', 'Advanced' and 'Expert' flight modes make it easy to successfully get started with model flying and even learn your first aerobatic maneuvers such as loops, rolls and even inverted flight!

The Ready-To-Fly (RTF) version contains everything you need to fly in one box and is the perfect choice if you are a model flying beginner. The Spektrum SLT6 2.4 GHz controller/transmitter can be used with other Bind-N-Fly® (BNF) Basic aircraft compatible with SLT FHSS technology (coming soon) when you're ready to fly. The rechargeable 2S 300 mAh LiPo (Lithium-Polymer) battery and convenient USB-C charger can be used with a variety of USB power sources. For experienced pilots who want to use their existing Spektrum transmitter along with their batteries and chargers, a BNF Basic version is also available. And with both versions, the powerful and efficient brushless motor, ESC, dual-protocol receiver (DSMX/DSM2 and SLT FHSS) and servos are all factory-installed in the durable EPO airframe, making the model ready to fly almost straight out of the box. Simply assemble the wing with the included thumbscrews and you'll be flying in minutes - no glue or tools required!

The RTF version also includes a Steam® code to download and activate a RealFlight® Trainer Edition flight simulator trial. The simulator features many of Horizon Hobby's most popular training airplanes and helicopters, including the Apprentice STOL S 700mm, plus integrated virtual flight instructor lessons. This helps beginners learn to fly successfully by practicing at home on a desktop PC or almost anywhere on a laptop! Simply use a USB-C cable (not included) to connect the included SLT6 controller/transmitter to a compatible USB port on your computer and use the trial version for up to 100 minutes. To fly with Realflight Simulator for as long as you like, you can purchase the Trainer Edition or the full Evolution version.





Ready-To-Fly version
This Ready-To-Fly (RTF) version includes a controller/transmitter with Spektrum™ SLT 2.4 GHz technology and everything else you need to fly, including AA transmitter batteries, a rechargeable lithium polymer battery for the aircraft and a USB charger. This means you don't have to buy anything extra to fly! The included transmitter can also be used with other Ultra-Micro/UMX (Ultra Micro eXtreme) Bind-N-Fly® (BNF) aircraft equipped with dual-protocol receivers with SLT FHSS technology (available in the future). The transmitter can also be used with the included RealFlight Trainer Edition trial version!


RealFlight included
RealFlight is the world's leading RC flight simulator and the Trainer Edition includes an airfield and many of Horizon Hobby's most popular trainer models from Blade®, HobbyZone® and E-flite® ? including the Apprentice STOL S 700mm. It also offers Virtual Flight instructor lessons to help beginners successfully learn to fly on a desktop PC or laptop! You can connect the included SLT6 controller/transmitter to a compatible USB port on your computer with a USB-C cable (not included) and fly for up to 100 minutes. To fly with Realflight Simulator for as long as you like, you can purchase the Trainer Edition or the full Evolution version.

Brushless Power
The factory-installed brushless outrunner motor is compatible with affordable and popular rechargeable 2S 300 mAh Lithium Polymer (LiPo) batteries. It is more powerful and efficient than brushed motors, giving the Apprentice STOL S the power to fly in winds that other trainer models in the ultra-micro and mini class cannot normally handle (up to 8 km/h).


Robust undercarriage
The oversized tires and steerable tail wheel make it possible to taxi, take off and land on a variety of surfaces that are impossible for most models of this size to handle. From the lawns of many parks and sports fields to dirt tracks and asphalt surfaces.


Durable design
The advanced EPO material construction ensures a lightweight yet durable airframe that is robust enough to withstand everyday flying stresses without deforming. Simple assembly
The Apprentice STOL S comes mostly factory-assembled with the power system, servos and receiver installed. All you have to do is snap the landing gear into the fuselage and mount the wing with two practical thumbscrews. You'll be ready to fly within minutes of opening the box - no glue or tools required!
