The Sd.Kfz. 251 half-track vehicle was an armored personnel carrier of the German army during the Second World War. It was built by the Hanomag company on the basis of their earlier Sd.Kfz. 11 vehicle. The Sd.Kfz. 251 was mainly used to transport the Panzergrenadiers (German mechanized infantry) into battle.

The Sd.Kfz. 251 was the most produced German half-track vehicle during the war. There were four main modifications of the vehicle, Ausf. A to D. A total of 4650 of the predecessor versions A, B and C were built between June 1939 and September 1943. However, the production of the Ausf. D was much larger: 10,602 units were built between 1943 and 1945.
