Based on one of the best and most powerful EDF (Electric Ducted Fan) sport jet platforms of all time, the legendary Habu, the E-flite Habu SS 50mm EDF is the most affordable and practical version yet. It has been downsized from the popular Habu STS (Smart Trainer with SAFE) and SS (Super Sport) 70mm EDFs. This jet is the perfect choice for RC pilots with little experience who want to venture into jet flying, and at the same time a fantastic everyday sport jet for experienced pilots! This updated and improved version features a stronger and stiffer airframe as well as a power system that is now compatible with both 3S and 4S batteries - ideal for the widely used and popular 1300-2200mAh batteries. Both versions are equipped with a Spektrum Avian 30-amp Smart Lite ESC and four factory-installed servos. The BNF Basic version has also been upgraded with an improved AR631+ receiver that provides real-time telemetry data and is equipped with advanced technologies such as AS3X+, SAFE Select and Smart Transmitter File (STF).

The E-flite Habu SS (Super Sport) 50mm EDF is the perfect jet for pilots of almost any experience level from beginners to experienced RC pilots looking for a straightforward, fun and powerful EDF sport jet. The unique and optimized design of the lightweight but strong composite-reinforced EPO fuselage improves handling at low speeds and makes it one of the easiest jets to fly ever! This updated and improved version features a reinforced and stiffer airframe. Unlike other models in the 50mm class, the Habu SS features a functional and enlarged rudder for added control and aerobatic capabilities. Inside, a Spektrum Avian 30-amp Smart Lite ESC and a more powerful brushless outrunner motor power the 12-blade 50mm empennage. The jet is compatible with a wide range of 3S and now 4S batteries. A 1300mAh battery keeps the weight down, an 1800mAh battery provides an excellent balance of power and flight time, and a 2200mAh battery delivers maximum power and longer flight times. The Smart ESC can provide a variety of real-time telemetry data with Smart and non-Smart batteries, including motor RPM, current, battery voltage and more - via compatible receivers (like the AR631+) and Spektrum AirWare-enabled radio controls. The wide-set tripod landing gear with steerable nose wheel provides excellent ground handling and facilitates takeoffs and landings on a variety of surfaces, from asphalt and fabric runways to gravel and even short grass. Alternatively, the jet can also be easily launched by hand and landed on its belly without landing gear. The BNF Basic version is equipped with an improved AR631+ receiver that provides real-time telemetry data and is equipped with advanced features such as AS3X+, optional SAFE Select and engine/thrust reverser. Skill level 2 - The next step after a trainer - Some experience required
Experience Level 2 - The next step after a trainer airplane. Models like this are ideal for RC pilots who have successfully learned to fly a trainer airplane, as well as those who have the skills to assemble, set up and fly similar models. Although it is one of the most controllable and simple EDF (Electric Ducted Fan) models ever developed, it is not suitable for absolute beginners. You should already have experience and the necessary skills to successfully fly a trainer airplane such as the HobbyZone AeroScout 1.1m or the Carbon Cub 1.3m. Alternatively, models such as the E-flite T-28 Trojan 1.1m, Valiant 1.3m, Turbo Timber Evolution 1.5m or other models in this class are also suitable before you attempt the BNF Basic version of the Habu SS 50mm EDF.

Exclusive technologies
The BNF Basic version of the Habu SS 50mm EDF is equipped with a factory-installed Spektrum AR631+ receiver that features exclusive Spektrum AS3X+ and SAFE Select technologies. The improved AS3X+ works in the background to more effectively compensate for the effects of wind and turbulence. The result is an even smoother flight feel that gives the impression of piloting a much larger aircraft. The optional SAFE Select function offers limits for pitch and roll angles as well as automatic self-stabilization, which can be switched on and off at the flick of a switch! If you don't want to use the SAFE Select functions, you can simply bind the receiver as normal - in this case only AS3X+ is active.


Smart technology
The Habu SS 50mm EDF is equipped with an exclusive Spektrum Avian Smart Lite ESC that provides a variety of real-time telemetry data from the propulsion system, including motor RPM, current, battery voltage and more - with both Smart and non-Smart batteries. This data can be accessed in-flight via compatible receivers (including the AR631+) and Spektrum AirWare-enabled transmitters (such as DX6e and 8e, DX6 G2/3 and 8 G2, DX9, NX6 through NX20, iX12 through iX20 and others). In addition, the controller offers an optional motor/thrust reverser that enables special ground maneuvers and other functions!


Smart Transmitter File
This BNF aircraft is equipped with a receiver that offers a Smart Transmitter File (STF) function that makes programming your transmitter a breeze. Once you bind your transmitter to an STF-enabled aircraft, all programming parameters are automatically downloaded from the receiver at your convenience. Switch assignments, rates, expo, telemetry and voice outputs configure themselves. No long step-by-step instructions. No constant adjustments. A simple push of a button and you're in the air faster!


Versatile performance
The factory-installed brushless motor includes a 30-amp Spektrum Avian Smart Lite ESC and an optimized and specially tuned motor. This offers plenty of thrust with 3S LiPo batteries (1300-2200mAh) and provides even more speed and vertical performance with a 4S battery - without any additional modifications or upgrades.

Jets tend to be faster and more difficult to fly than most of their propeller-driven counterparts, which can make them challenging to control, especially for beginners - and sometimes even for experienced pilots. In contrast to other models in the 50 mm class, this model has a functional and now also enlarged rudder, which provides more control and improved aerobatic characteristics.


Gear options
The versatile tripod landing gear with steerable nose wheel offers excellent ground handling and facilitates take-offs and landings on various surfaces from asphalt or textile runways to gravel and even short grass. Alternatively, you can remove the landing gear to achieve higher speeds and better vertical performance. This also makes simple hand launches and landings on grass possible without any problems.


Simple assembly
The Habu SS 50mm EDF is supplied largely pre-assembled, including drive system, servos and receiver (only in the BNF Basic version). All you have to do is complete a few simple assembly steps without any glue or special tools. You'll be ready to go faster than it takes to charge your battery!
